About Us
Turning D Ranch is a troubled teen boarding school for boys located in the rugged mountains of rural Western Montana. This remote ranch setting, far from modern distractions, is the ideal environment for struggling teens to begin a new and positive direction in their lives. Our unique residential program helps boys ages 12 to 18 recognize their full potential and make a lasting positive change.
Our teen ranch is a licensed facility designed to help a troubled teenager face a wide range of issues. They will receive an affordable education, customized therapy, as well as experience many enriching outdoor activities.
Our troubled teen ranch is a licensed facility designed to help a troubled teenager learn accountability and responsibility for his choices through applying the fundamentals of a 12 step program for low-self esteem and/or drug related issues. While as a resident, your troubled teen will receive customized therapy that includes one on one counseling and mentorship with our knowledgeable staff. The boarding school aspect of our facility includes a NWAC accredited Junior High and High School academic program, communication courses and opportunities for experiential education in the great Montana wilderness.
Turning D Ranch is a leader in this industry. Our principal owners have over 20 years of hands-on experience and have been involved in defining the state regulatory processes since Montana began regulation. We have been sitting members on the board of Private Alternative Adolescent Residential Programs (PAARP) which is the board that regulates programs in Montana. We continue to be involved by attending board meetings and have direct input on current and upcoming policies and procedures.
Our staff
At Turning D Ranch, we feel our greatest asset is our diverse and highly qualified staff. Our staff members include a sitting judge, a teacher with 19 years experience in the public school system, a local fireman, a professional Carpenter and professional Horseman. In addition to our two staff members who are E.M.T. certified, all staff are Emergency First-Aid trained. Each troubled teen resident gets assigned a one-on-one mentorship with one of these qualified and committed individuals.

Our staff is committed to helping your troubled teenage boy engage in more positive behaviors by instilling in him a Desire and Determination to change the Direction of his own Destiny. It is our goal to make the world a better place by reaching out to struggling teens and their families and making them whole again.

The goal here at the ranch is to empower each individual to take responsibility for his past and challenge him to be accountable for his present and future. Through this supportive and caring process, we help residents reclaim their lives and obtain the tools to create a brighter, happier, and more productive future for themselves and those around them.

The cornerstones of our program are Desire, Direction, Determination and Destiny. Each of these cornerstones work together to help build-up and encourage your troubled teen to take stock of his actions, accept responsibility for those actions and instill in him a Desire and Determination to choose a positive Direction in which to find his Destiny.
