As the name suggests, it is not an out and out religious based educational institute, most Christian Boarding School have an educational system that is well not apart but is merged with a view of religious views. Apart from educational prowess a child’s faith and worship is also trained and refined to shape his overall character. It is more faith based hence giving the students and the staff an opportunity to worship together. The worship continues through their days and nights when at school. Mostly the staff also are Christian so their ideologies and principles which is the same as that of the school. A school where both the administration and staff both are becoming practicing Christians making the school like one big giant family. Teaching of the bible helps everyone communicate and propagate the teachings of it, both staff and students.

Thus Christian education underlines the interest of the student keeping in mind the teaching of the Christ. They have a holistic approach to their education fulfilling the emotional, academic, sporting and spiritual needs of the child.

While most of us feel that the idea of educating a child also includes making him touch his spiritual side. Thus not only being educated but also spiritually equipped. Christian Boarding Schools are institutions having their own unique educational programs focusing on the Christian way of life. The following are the usual reasons to be in a Christian Schools for your information and guidance.

There are prominently two reasons for joining a Christian Boarding School as per the parent point of view, for a happy and wholesome life it is essential not only to have a wide ranging education program but an extra dimension identified by many as spirituality. It cannot be identified as an out and out religion based school. Parents with not extreme or overwhelming religious opinions can opt for such programs to shape a better individual out of their child who cares for and respects others and also for him.

Another reason is to avoid a young student to get distracted from their ambitious goals or running into danger of getting off track. Wide range of issues such as sexuality, body image, drugs, courtship and family responsibilities that a young adult can encounter in his day to day life will not adversely impact him as his moral ground are based on a strong foundation set by these schools. These schools understand the tough times today youth go through and not only make the kids aware of these issues they confront in actual life and an education system that will help them tackle these issues. The guidelines fenced by firm rules will help the fragile youth to grow in an environment that will mould them as better and productive citizens of the future. Also various activities that make boarding life exciting keeping the essence of spirituality fresh is a feature of these schools, so much so that many leaders have graduated from Christian Boarding School.

The emotional turbulence that is set up in a troubled child leaves him rebellious, resentful and disobedient causing a distress among the parents. Realizing this anxiety among the youth and their inability to communicate with others to help find a solution, has bought the need of a program to redeem the youth and thus find their feet back in the society. However, not enough is being done to deal with it. Many of them need support or a place to turn to for their solutions, certainly based on the intensity of their problems. Also if they found that a lot more people had the same problems, it would give them a new ray of hope and help un-tag themselves as social outcast.

Although it can be difficult to convince your child to complete such a program, they always have an option to complete it at home or an on and out treatment basis. Recommendations will be made and they need to be adhered to. Parents need to lead by example, as what these kids do is a repercussion to the situation at home. Failing to create an ideal environment as referred by the program is only setting the child to failure, which is the last thing you want to do as a parent. As parents it is equally important for you to make your child understand the importance of education. An academic program set up in such a way that assures he will be well qualified to get a high school degree as well as go on to college if that is his desire with ample opportunities to interact with his teachers and classmates.

Cost is a prime hindrance that prevents parents from enrolling their teens in such troubled teen programs, thus the need for a well established troubled teen program that is customized to suit the need of different unique individuals.

As a society we can’t force our opinions or views on these individuals, but get to the root cause of their problems and try and solve it. But it comes with a shortcoming that no single method can be labeled as a full proof method to do this. So an assessment by people who really know their situation and have researched and experienced a lot of such cases can establish a program on the basis of this.
Parents play a quintessential role in establishing a flawless program for their troubled child. The defiant nature makes them believe that the little education they have is enough for them to tackle the hardships of the world.

Lack of education will make these individuals to grow into unproductive citizens who cost the state more than what if sizeable funds would have been invested to improve their conditions in the first place. While most teenagers struggle with learning disabilities and staying focused. These programs can help them to not only to succeed but grow as ambitious individuals by not only completing high school but go on to take up college as well. As long as they are dependent on you for their needs it is acceptable but soon they will have to earn at least for their basic necessities. It is almost impossible to get a job without a high school diploma.

These youngsters need our more attention and focus, and hence if better invested our future lies in their hands. Trouble Teen Programs will give them an opportunity to not only be self reliant but have a successful life. The funding done by the state has to be increased by folds so as to improve their condition and making troubled teen program a priority unlike a tainted social issue which was feared by many. Hence granting the assistance they need by providing them these programs at costs which are affordable.

Not all is lost, while raising a difficult child it can usually bog you down not letting you or your family being stressed and yet thriving is the key. However it does require you to change your parenting ways. Sacrifice not only career wise but in all respects have to be made.

The first thing to know and understand with treatment of a troubled child is not to think that you’re the only one. There are many such families that go through this emotional rollercoaster. It is not specific to a particular age, race or background that a child is diagnosed from behavior disorder. It just happens and most of the times you feel you should have reacted much earlier then you did. The behavior disorders are an aftermath of various traumas that happens in child’s life.

Stressful living conditions can also be a reason to this outburst by the little ones to express their anxiety and anger. Medical irregularities like family genetics or hormonal dysfunctionality can be also a reason for a child to be difficult in his behavior. There are numerous ways in helping a defiant child and all seem to work with zero after effects.

Do not be too harsh on yourself, it is nobody’s fault neither yours nor his. Just put your head down and work. The steps to return everything back to order and normal is the same for all families, irrespective of their age or problems. As I said before your parenting skills will be tested and very different from that used for normal children.

It may differ from child to child and hence patience is necessary. Disability is more demanding than cancer and leukemia in children as much care your toddler needs you to need the same compassion and love do not be ruthless on yourself. Give yourself the benefit of doubt and learn from your mistakes.

Don’t dwell on the mishap, work and try improving things around you. Energy that you create be visible in your toddler as well.

Teens have always been struggling and tormented by different social, emotional and interpersonal issues leading to medical problems. Most children opt to bear these problems in silence as they do not want them to be outcast or treated as a problem. However this attitude makes the problem go undetected and hence aggravates the issue further. The only obvious qualities being the behavioral changes and distinct sleeping patterns are indicative of the emotional problems they are going through. Some of the points highlighted here are a testimonial to the troubled teen references that have been backed by the statistics and recitations taken by the victims of the incidents.

Although many kids raised in a single parent home have went on to live a steady and mature lives, the kids in a single family many times are not able to cope with this situation and leading to mood or behavioral disorder. A child watched domestic violence as an infant, finds it difficult to express these emotion and many fears. There are times when both the parents may live in the same home but are practically unavailable for the emotional needs of child leading loneliness and causing frustration. Learning disability or just being different from others, leads to isolation due to society’s harsh treatment.

Parent relocating frequently on account of business makes the child’s life chaotic and unsure of his surroundings. A child brought up in a house where regular drug use happens suffers from anger, anxiety and uneasiness. Smoking also causes the child to be physically and mentally weak due to the constant smoke that gets into his system. Any time of physical, emotional and sexual abuse of the child can also puncture a child’s self-esteem and cause turbulence in his mental state.
As parents it is essential to know the reasons for teens getting defiant and efforts to curb and avoid such an environment needs to be made to avoid your little ones from getting harmed.

Most children often suffer their problems in silence. The lack of communication or should I say the ability of a teen to be secretive and not involve his parents can be one of the major factors in letting trouble teens go undetected. Your teen may be in a problem and whether he decides to tell you or no, you have to get to the root of this problem.

Although each child is unique it is wrong to compare your child with any other, even if it is your own. The symptoms they exhibit will also be subtle and inconsistent. The same set of friends he/she has been having since the last few years, suddenly you notice that they have deserted them recently. They do not want to be associated with any of their old friends. As parents it’s mandatory to know your kids friends and the influences they have in your child’s life. Friends are a key to know what exactly could be the problem.

Drop in academic performance is the biggest wakeup call parents can get. If there is a drastic drop in your child’s academic it is certainly a reason to worry. If the performance is just down the cliff it is time to grill them with questions and get to the root of the problem. Another reason could be if they skipping too many classes or schools and the reason could be visiting a friend or attending house parties. Try finding the reasons for not attending colleges, check it does not involve distractions like drugs.

The hormonal transition and the body changes that a child goes through are often demanding. Non-communicative, alienated and disrespectful are some of the qualities mentally ill infants. Another alarming problem seen in demented kids will be sleeping pattern. If the sleeping pattern is observed to be too drastic it is a matter of concern. They always lie about their whereabouts while you think they might be attending their guitar lessons they will be busy at a friend place with no supervision.

While sending your child away to boarding school is sure to make you guilty but a decision that you cannot vie away from. The only way to lower the guilt involved is by making sure he gets the best. To choose the best for your children thorough research work has to be done and the categories to choose from needs to be known. The following are the types of boarding school:

Boarding schools are classified into 3 types, which include the scope of education they provide. This may include preparations for college, junior high school and depending upon the ways they offer grades. The first type of boarding school will be the College- Preparatory Boarding Schools, primarily set to train the students the academic rigors of college life. College Preparatory Boarding Schools can be further classified as single-sex boarding schools which unlike coed are either all boys or all girls’ school.

Military Schools prepare the child for college education with the military like set up and the same discipline. Pre-professional art schools lay the foundation for helping students to train in music, visual arts, theatre, ballet, and creative writing. School with particular religious interests and emphasis on spiritual growth of an individual like the Christian Boarding School is also a type of College Preparatory Boarding School.

Boarding type done for children below grade 8 is known as the Junior Boarding School focusing exclusively on the junior boarding experience. Therapeutic Boarding Schools are the third type of boarding schools for kids with special needs and schooling for them mostly comprises of therapy. Overcoming the obstacles of tradition schooling system and training them for the college is another objective of these boarding schools. Although most Therapeutic schools differ in their focus and hence commonly known as “boarding schools for troubled-teens” or “boarding schools for struggling teens.”

Local schooling can be compared with the Boarding schools in terms of the academic as well as extra-curricular activities provided by the school. In spite of this diversity by both schooling bodies there are various other factors that help you choose the better option as pupils. This may include where you live, what kind of education is on offer, how diverse the extra -curricular activities are on offer and many more.

A more personal attention is provided to the students as compared to the local public schools. The size of the classes is the major governing factor in this case. While most boarding classes have small sized classes with 12-15 students, a local school will be comprised of twice the same number or sometimes even more. The encouraging class participation and eager interacting behavior from the students is prominently seen. Most of the professors hold high degrees in their area of specialization and more or less have devoted themselves for the education infrastructure at that institute and are available round the clock.

The students have state of art resources like the library, study rooms, cafeterias and laboratories. The students at boarding are more tested and trained to ask question. Inquisitive nature is the part of academics at boarding school. Counseling is taken seriously at the boarding school; After all it is the only outlet for children enrolled there.

Boarding schools have a unique experience in themselves. Living alone means making choices on your own, choices that influence later choices that need to be owned and taken responsibility about. Like everyone else you also are a novice in terms of exploring the new environment, boarding school offers a new dimension where everyone has to explore to learn. Spending almost the entire day with your dorm mates, strong intense friendships are bound to happen. The setup in a boarding is such that the students come across the faculty all throughout the day, hence making a strong bonds with their teachers.
Education takes on a broad meaning at the boarding school.

Finally you took the giant step of sending your son to the boarding school; now comes the even bigger responsibility of making him feel at home there. First impression is the best impression- and that’s with kids too. Wouldn’t you want him to feel good about the boarding too. Some of the things that you can take care before your young toddler reaches the boarding things like where he is living, the space he will be getting for his things. Ask him to visit the boarding days ahead so he is well acquainted of the surrounding. Here are some preparations you can do during the first week after he reaches the boarding.

The most important thing to remember is no matter whatever they say, your children still need your love and support. And most of the times parents are the best support that young people have. Do not ask too many questions, listening will help. Ask him to call his friends over for the weekend and be prepared if he wants to go his friends sometimes. Let them tackle their own problems do not give advices too quickly, the confidence they gain by solving their own problems would be quite visible. Stay in touch at regular times yet not being too empowering and giving him his space. Do not be too critical of yourself, parents will feel lonely and upset about sending their child away to boarding if they feel homesick. Be patience you wouldn’t me much help if you yourself are not able to cope with the feeling of being alone and can worsen the situation for both of you. It’s a transition phase and will pass like any other time.

Understand and realize the reason for sending him to the boarding in the first place, it helps him become more resilient, self reliant, independent and build social skills that will be fruitful for the rest of his life.
